Sunnen Quick Check Rod Aligner

Sunnen Quick Check Rod Aligner

Often overlooked when assembling an engine is the straightness of the rods and pistons. This is the only way to do it. The fixture will check and then straighten any rod. Perfect, like new condition.

Two piece bending bar.

I'm Selling & Moving On
By Don Terrill

I've always had these romantic images of tinkering in my engine shop when I was an old man. Those images are now coming under increasing attack by one of my life long personality traits:

Once I've done something, I don't want to do it again.

In fact, if I look back it's clear - I strive to reach some level of success and then move on the moment I notice the diminishing upside potential. I always wondered why Lance Armstrong kept going. What was the point of continuing to race the Tour de France after winning it six years in a row?

A local racer once told me you can't win until winning is the most important thing in your life. 10 years after making that statement he proved it right - he retired, focused on drag racing and promptly won a track championship ( I believe he was over 60 at the time).

Well, building engines is no longer the most important thing in my life - it actually hasn't been for quite a while.

A year after leaving the world of Nascar I started an Internet business that's been my passion ever since. The focus is still racing - I just don't build engines for a living anymore and have no desire to do so.

It's time to move on...
